Description
There are quite some issues with maven (Example: dependency:go-offline does not work, there are a lot of complaints for years now, they don't get resolved and are needed for proper packaging. And there are many other issues that do not get resolved and are not planned to get resolved - look at their JIRA). Do we have a better option?
Just asking.
I do not see Maven as a showstopper for the CometD build.
On the contrary, it simplifies a lot tasks such as deploying a release, managing dependencies, and enforcing the project structure.
Other project that migrated away from Maven had kind-of-unsurmountable problems, but that's not the case here, so we'll stick with Maven.
